Norfolk Winter Expedition with Iolo Williams and Theo de Clermont : 16th-20th February Wildlife Summary: 16th - first afternoon We met at our base, the Lodge hotel in Old Hunstanton and headed straight off in the early afternoon to RSPB Titchwell, to our surprise in the sun! A detour on the way into Titchwell, to see a flock of Geese in lovely light containing Greylags, over 100 White-fronted Geese and a Tundra Bean Goose. TOUR REPORT Day One We all met outside the hotel at 12noon and headed straight for the English side of the Solway. It was a high spring tide, so the waders were pushed in close to the shore and getting ready to roost. It was lovely to see groups of Pintail and Shoveler just offshore near Bowness and wader species consisted of Oystercatcher, Curlew, Lapwing and Redshank. From the 27th - 31st of October, Mull had 8 new residents, 7 were our wonderful guests and the other was the one and only Megan McCubbin. Together we embarked on a week to remember, experiencing Mull's autumn wildlife at its very best. On the Monday afternoon, we welcomed everyone at our beautiful accommodation in Tobermory with fantastic views down the Sound of Mull looking south-east with spectacular sunrises from the living room windows all week.
