Day 1 - March 15th On day one, the group met up at 2 o'clock down at the Grant Arms hotel’s reception, where we got to know each other and set up a plan for the week. Mull 'Spring Skydancer' tour 23rd March - 27th March 2026
23rd evening - day 1 We all met up at our accommodation at Oakfield House before heading out for the afternoon. A wet and windy afternoon to start the trip. On our way to our first stop we had Goosander and Red-breasted Merganser, Bar-tailed Godwit and other common waders plus a few Harbour Seals and 2 showy Red-throated Divers from the roadside. Islay Spring Wildlife Expedition: 9th-13th March 2026:
9th - first afternoon We all met at the Kennacraig ferry terminal and started with the ferry trip to Port Askaig. Through West Loch Tarbert on the ferry, we had Great-Northern and Red-throated Divers, Black Guillemots, Red-breasted Mergansers, a Slavonian Grebe, a few Goldeneye, Eiders, a few Harbour Seals and best of all Ewan spotted an Otter on a rocky island near the shoreline Down the Sound of Islay there was a small flock of pale-bellied Brent Geese and a fair few Red Deer on the moors...
