TOUR REPORT Day One We all met outside the hotel at 12noon and headed straight for the English side of the Solway. It was a high spring tide, so the waders were pushed in close to the shore and getting ready to roost. It was lovely to see groups of Pintail and Shoveler just offshore near Bowness and wader species consisted of Oystercatcher, Curlew, Lapwing and Redshank. From the 27th - 31st of October, Mull had 8 new residents, 7 were our wonderful guests and the other was the one and only Megan McCubbin. Together we embarked on a week to remember, experiencing Mull's autumn wildlife at its very best. On the Monday afternoon, we welcomed everyone at our beautiful accommodation in Tobermory with fantastic views down the Sound of Mull looking south-east with spectacular sunrises from the living room windows all week. Day 1 We all met up at our accommodation house before heading out for the afternoon, a windy and rainy afternoon was on the cards and high tide, so we headed to moorland areas of NW Mull, on the way we saw Snipe and Little Grebes. Coming into Calgary bay in a flooded field there were lots of Oystercatchers and Common Gulls and a sizable Greylag Goose flock, hidden amongst them were 10 Greenland White-fronted Geese, a species becoming a very v rare sight on Mull and with 4 of

16th - first afternoon Jack and the group met at the Kennacraig ferry terminal and started with the ferry trip to Port Askaig. Through West Loch Tarbert we had several summer plumage Great-Northern and Red-throated Divers, R-b Mergansers, a Little Egret, Eiders and a few Harbour Seals. Heading into open water, we spotted 2 pods of Common Dolphins and 8 Harbour Porpoise with Gannets, Kittiwakes and Guillemots also around. Down the Sound of Islay there were a fair few Red Deer

10th - day 1 We all met at the Kennacraig ferry terminal and started with the ferry trip to Port Askaig. Through West Loch Tarbert we had several summer plumage Great-Northern Diver, Red-breasted Mergansers, Wigeon, a Little Egret, several Little Grebe, a drake Common Scoter, Eiders and a few Harbour Seals. Our final tour of the festival and we met two guests in Carlisle before heading up the motorway to meet the rest of the group in Moffat....
