A Red Admiral feeding from a Devils Bit Scabious in the Mull and Iona Community Trust Ardura woodland. Scotland the Big Picture
We had an amazing day at the 'Scotland The Big Picture' conference in Stirling. Inspirational lectures from around Scotland and even from far flung Montana! We left feeling a buzz of excitement and hope for the future of biodiversity and the climate in Scotland. Reptiles rule...
Reptiles rule... We encountered this stunning pregnant female Adder on our #Mull Nature Expedition this week! They do not lay eggs, but give birth in late summer to approximately 8 live young that measure 15 - 20 cm. Evening events...
THE ISLE OF MULL WILDLIFE EXPEDITION with IOLO WILLIAMS On our evening tour we saw a large movement of Palmate Newts crossing the road at dusk. This enticed a number of Hedgehogs to take advantage of the amphibian prey. We stopped to check on one Hedgehog which appeared to be stunned/injured on the side of the road. That Heraldic Pose..
We have had a stunning week of Golden Eagle encounters on our #Mull Nature Expeditions! Settled weather during the incubation period has potentially helped with their breeding attempts so far. Lets hope that parent birds manage to find plenty of food for growing eaglets at this time of the year.
