I recently visited a neighbour who was leaving / managing an area of their garden / lawn for nature recovery. It was a beautiful haze of purple with Devils-bit Scabious, Knapweed plus Ling and Bell Heather. The insects, including the pictured Honeybee, were nectoring on the rich food source available. Every time I sit and watch these magical spectacles, it reminds me of the following quote...

"If all mankind were to disappear, the world would regenerate back to the rich state of equilibrium that existed ten thousand years ago. If insects were to vanish, the environment would collapse into chaos." E.O. Wilson
