We met the guests in the 'Eagle Town' and headed off towards the Moffat hills to explore the wild areas. We glimpsed a Golden Eagle over a distant crag and also 2 Black Grouse (black cocks) arriving into the glen.
Approaching the peak time of birdsong, we had many species singing at us during the morning - Garden Warbler, Willow Warbler, Tree Pipit, Sedge Warbler, Chiffchaff and Wren, to name a few!
The heavens opened in the afternoon, but we carried on our exploration of the areas and a singing Ring Ouzel was the highlight after lunch.
