A STEPPE GREY SHRIKE today on Ardnamurchan

A trip across to the #Ardnamurchan peninsula today proved very fruitful as we managed to see the recently reported shrike, which should normally be in the deserts of Asia but has ended up here on the rainy west coast of Scotland!

This bird (a sub-species of Great Grey or even a full species) is only the 9th Scottish record - & first for West of Scotland. Thanks for info from Jim Dickson (Argyll Bird Recorder) and John Poyner (Highland Bird Recorder).
