I was up on the high mountain tops checking some Ptarmigan sites on Friday. Unfortunately no grouse on the day but finding their droppings is always a positive sign of recent presence. Two pairs of Golden Plovers again occupy the lower peatlands this year and I managed this photo of one of the birds...look at that plumage!!
