A capsid bug caught in the carnivorous Round-leaved Sundew on a recent #Mull #wildlife experience. We also spotted a damselfly trapped in these insectivorous wild flowers at the weekend! Nature is amazing !
Lesser Celandine photographed in local woods... I have been doing some wildflower macro photography recently in an attempt to get some images for my book which will be focusing on the #wildlife of #Mull throughout the seasons.
Well it has been another 4 weeks now and as I type this we approach the month of May! It has been very strange on Mull throughout April with a quiet island and no visitors. Although the increased peace and tranquility may be nice to experience it is sad to see deserted areas where people would normally be connecting and engaging with the natural world. I am also missing peoples company when out watching wildlife as I love sharing emotions and curiosity with my guests when enj
It was a privilege to explore Findhorn Valley earlier in the week. According to legend, the last wolf of Scotland was killed by a huntsman in 1743 in this beautiful area. We enjoyed watching two 1st winter Golden Eagles, Red Squirrels, Red Deer, Roe Deer, a covey of Red Grouse and a Dipper. #WinterTours #Winterwatch #WinterTourism #WinterWildlife #naturetourism #NatureScotland #WildlifePackageHolidays #WildlifeBlog #WildlifeTours #ScotlandWildlife #scotlandwildlife #Wildlife
A team photo on day 2 on the Isle of Islay with Iolo Williams and guests. Within 5 minutes of leaving the house we had nice views of a Merlin perched up before taking flight.
Afterwards during a morning walk on the north side of the Island we managed to encounter Chough, Wheatear, WT Eagle and Grey Seal pups. Into the afternoon and we made use of the hides at Loch Gruniart to watch 1000s of Barnacle Geese, Juv Peregrine, Golden Eagles, Ruff, Pintail, Wigeon, BT Godwit, Grey
Another stunning expedition on the #Ardnamruchan peninsula yesterday. The highlights included a lunge feeding Minke Whale, female Merlin and a pod of 150 Common Dolphins working the north coastline before joining a feeding frenzy of Kittiwakes and Gannets. The Red Deer were showing well in beautiful sunshine and we also saw a Roe Deer (Doe) to the east. #ArdnamurchanWildlife #Ardnamurchan #ArdnamurchanWildlifeTour #highlands #NatureScotland #WildlifeTourism #Wildlife #Wildlif

Raphael and Isaac from London got rewarded with their patience, perseverance and tracking skills on Wednesdays tour by winning a copy of the children's book 'Horus the Peregrine Falcon'. The story of Horus is based in England's capital city where up to 25 pairs of Peregrine Falcons breed! The book provides a huge amount of information on the ecological role of Peregrines in our urban areas, making for an educational and inspiring read! Hopefully it might encourage them to loo

Due to future aspirations along with incorporating another aspect to my current business in the winter, I have decided to evolve 'Share Nature' into 'Nature Scotland'. 'Share Nature' will continue as a secondary name for this year with the URL web address and email address still staying active and diverting traffic and messages to www.naturescotland.com and my new email address - info@naturescotland.com Ewan #NatureScotland #Wildlife #MullWildlifeTours #WildlifeBlog
Another 'Sea Heart update' because I am so pleased to have found this natural treasure after it had such an amazing journey...
The elusive “Molucca Bean”, a drift seed which falls from vines in the West Indies and is carried by the Gulf Stream to our shores. The journey takes them at least 15 months!
They are regarded as being very lucky if you find one so I am going to take it with my on every wildlife tour this year! #SeaHeart #SeaBean #EwanMiles #MullWildlifeTours #mul
While we were on Ardnamurchan on the 5th March we discovered a White-billed Diver just off the lighthouse! They are the largest member of the Divers and can be distinguished from Great-northern Divers by their larger and paler bill, also WB Divers in non-breeding plumage have white spots on their back and a paler sides to thair face. A rare sighting in UK waters, they breed high up in Arctic Russia. This was my first White-billed Diver and it was great to share the encounter
Who was the hunter and who was the hunted?...
We discovered this recent predation on the coast of Mull this week. After assessing the plumage remains we found the prey item to be an adult Herring Gull, but who was the predator...
Well it seems he/she kindly left a clue in the form of a moulted feather (pictured), and what I think is a secondary covert. The feather belonged to a majestic White-tailed Eagle! #EwanMiles #NatureScotland #Hebrides #Wildlife #Photography #Isleo
